Obituary
Betty L. Hoffer, age 78, of Dry Run Rd., Otway, Ohio, died Monday, December 7, 2009 at S.O.M.C. Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born April 15, 1931 in Highland County, Ohio a daughter of the late Estie and Hazel Reveal Smith. On November 25, 1950 she was united in marriage to Chester Lee Hoffer who survives, also surviving are two daughters, Marilyn (Kenny) Meddock of Otway, Ohio and Carol (Joe) Meddock of McDermott, Ohio, one granddaughter, Angela Meddock and Aaron Messer of Columbus, Ohio, one grandson, Brian (Jennifer) Meddock of Lucasville, Ohio, nine great-grandchildren, Lauren Meddock, Dalton Howard, Darien Messer, Dylan Messer, Briana Messer, Zoe Messer, Braxton Meddock, Trevor Meddock, Jenna Meddock, two brothers, Jesse Smith of Wilmington, Ohio and Charles Smith of Blanchester, Ohio, three sisters, Joan Woolum of Phoenix, Arizonia, Jenny Morgan and Diane Rayburn both of Hillsboro, Ohio and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Richard and Gene Smith. Betty will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway with Pastors, Tommy Little and Monty White officiating. Burial will follow in Old Hoffer Hill Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Otway.
