Sandy M. Borders, age 52, of Jasper Road, Piketon, Ohio, died 6:42 A.M. Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Pike Community Hospital. She was born July 20, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of the late Pearl and Ruhama Doughty Groce. On August 11, 1978, she was united in marriage to Earl David Borders who preceded her in death June 1, 2008. Surviving are one son David Nathan Borders and wife Rachel of Waverly, Ohio, two daughters, Marianne Borders and Shawn Smith, and Natalie Phillips, both of Piketon, Ohio, four grandchildren, Kara Koski, Jonathan Koski, Logan Borders, and Alyssa Borders, one brother, Jimmy Groce and wife Ida of Columbus, Ohio, and two sisters, Candy Borders and husband Tom, and Paula Church and husband Paul, both of Piketon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ellen Grubb and Ruth Bush. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor James Dummit officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Latham Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
