Joshua Lee Horinek, 18 of Hackleshin Rd. Latham, Ohio died Sunday December 20, 2009 at the Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio as the result of injuries from an automobile accident on U.S. Rt. 23 north of Waverly. He was born on September 9, 1991 in Elyria, Ohio and is the son of Jack and Sherri Parker Horinek of Latham, Ohio. He is also survived by a sister, Shannon Horinek of Latham, his girl friend, Maynelle Wallace, Grandparents: Charlie and Carol Parker, and Jack and Catherine Horinek both of Lorraine, OH. Aunts and uncles: Shelli (Carl) Hoerrle, Candi (Dave) Cooper, Charlie (Judy) Parker, Owen Parker, Jimmie (Amy) Horinek, and Artie Horinek. Cousins: Bryttani, Nicole, Karlie, David, Adam, Clinton, Charlie, Travis, Chase, Caycee, Matthew, Michelle, Dylan, Andrew, Contessa, Angelina, and Jason. He was a 2009 graduate of Western High School, where he was a member of the basketball and cross country track teams, and was temporarily employed at Long's Retreat while waiting for his basic training with the U. S. Marine Corp. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday December 24, 2009 at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Mick Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Washburn Cemetery near Latham. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and Thursday from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. botkinfuneralservice.com
