Richard Vincent McDonough, 83 of Marcus Run Rd. Waverly, died Saturday December 26, 2009 at the Pike Community Hospital. He was born on July 31, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Charles Mark and Blanche Elizabeth Reader McDonough. He is survived by his faithful companion, Becky Manbevers of Waverly, 2 daughters: Deborah (William) Moore of Lucasville, OH, Denise Pherson (Tim Pettit) of Piketon, 1 son, Rich McDonough (Angie Williams) of Waverly, 8 grandchildren: Preston Pherson, Billy Jack Moore, Sabrina McDonough, Jessica Moore, Nicole Rhoades, Austin McDonough, Chance Groves, Eric Williams, and 3 great grandchildren. 1 brother, Bill (Grace) McDonough of Ashland, Alabama, 3 sisters: Mildred Godfrey of Batavia, OH, Hilde Leedom, and Anne (Everett) Ramsey of Chillicothe. Sisters-in-law:Lou and Lillian McDonough both of Cincinnati, Mary Nelle McDonough of Indiana, and Ella McDonough of Arizona. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Jimmy, Joe, Robert, Chester, Mick, and Scott McDonough, and a brother-in-law, David Leedom. Richard was a retired Brick Mason, a member of the Bricklayers Union Local #55 in Columbus, a Life member of the AMVETS, and was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. William Hahn officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery-Denver Rd. with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion-Merritt Post #142 of Waverly. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. botkinfuneralservice.com
