Obituary
Shirley L. Goodman, age 71, of Otway, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 1, 2010 at her residence. She was born November 17, 1938 on Bracken Ridge, a daughter of the late Alva and Ethel Hamilton. She was a bus driver for Northwest School District, a beloved wife, and devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald "Big Chew" Goodman, whom she married January 15, 1956, and one daughter, Lavone Goodman. Surviving are three sons, Ronald (Sabine) Goodman Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., Randy (Pat) Goodman of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Larry (Karri) Goodman of Otway, Ohio, one daughter, Beth Goodman of Otway, Ohio, seven grandchildren, Stacy Goodman of Otway, Ronald L. Goodman III of Fayetteville, N.C., Jacob Goodman of Dayton, Ohio, Michael Goodman of Fayetteville, N.C., Amanda White of Otway, Laci (Eric) Lawson of Otway, and Casey Goodman of Otway, one great grandchild Mikenna Dawn Hall, two sisters, Kay Goodman and Vickie Hamilton, both of Portsmouth, Ohio, and many friends and extended family. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Otway, Ohio with Rev. Danny Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Oswego Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662 in Shirley's name.
