Richard L. Ward, age 84, of North High Street, Waverly, OH died at 9:48 AM Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Pike Community Hospital in Waverly, OH. He was born on June 12, 1925, to the late Chester Nelson and Chloia Martin Ward. On January 20, 1951, he was united in marriage to Pauline Snyder, who survives. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Donald Ward and James Roger Ward. Richard was a mail carrier, a member of the American Legion Post #142 of Waverly, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Mound Cemetery in Piketon, OH. Calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements under the direction of the Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Southern Ohio, 1248 Kinneys Lane, Portsmouth, OH 45662, or Pike Community Hospital Foundation, 100 Dawn Lane, Waverly, OH 45690.
